Motorcycle CBR 600 f3 will start but dies quickly?

Hey. I have a 96 cbr f3 that will start up, its sometimes a chore, and then will die once i get going or sometimes while idling. Whats weird is that it will idle sometimes for a long time and then when I ride it dies in less than a minute. Anyone know what to look for?
